Who are we?

We’re an alliance of six municipalities:

  • City of Ballarat.

  • Central Goldfields Shire Council.

  • Golden Plains Shire Council.

  • Hepburn Shire Council.

  • Moorabool Shire Council.

  • Pyrenees Shire Council.

How do we work?

The GBAC Executive Officer supports the GBAC Committee and GBAC CEO Group. The City of Ballarat is the 2023-24 GBAC host. The 2023-24 GBAC Chair is Cr Des Hudson from the City of Ballarat.

GBAC is led by two groups: a committee and a CEO group.

The GBAC Committee:

  • Comprises the Mayor and the CEO from each member Council.

  • Advocates for agreed regional priorities.

  • Provides strategic direction and oversight of GBAC’s work.

  • Supports and oversees issues of regional importance.

  • Meets quarterly.

 The GBAC CEO Group:

  • Comprises the CEO of each member Council.

  • Oversees and evaluates GBAC activities.

  • Oversees delivery of agreed projects.

  • Meets monthly.
