GBAC meets with the Minister for Planning
On Wednesday, August 21, the GBAC committee welcomed The Hon Sonya Kilkenny, Minister for Planning, to Ballarat Town Hall to discuss the new Plan for Victoria. GBAC members were also pleased to have Local Members Ms Michael Settle and Ms Juliana Addison, in attendance to support their electorates.
Paving the Way for a Future Proof Transport Network
The Greater Ballarat Alliance of Councils (GBAC) welcomes the State Government’s announcement of $60,000 from the Flexible Local Transport Solutions Program to go towards the development of a Strategic Transport Assessment. GBAC will commit a further $60,000 towards the strategy, taking the total value to $120,000.

The Greater Ballarat Alliance of Councils (GBAC) has welcomed the opportunity to provide a submission to the Legislative Council Economy and Infrastructure Committee’s inquiry into the funding and services of local governments in Victoria.
GBAC meets with Minister for Regional Development
Minister for Regional Development, The Hon Gayle Tierney has met with GBAC members to share her vision for Regional Victoria. The meeting, held at Ballarat Town Hall in June, provided an opportunity for the alliance to share with the Minister the current challenges facing the region and provide further insight into how GBAC provides a unique opportunity for government to consider solutions that generate regional and rural outcomes.
