GBAC meets with Minister for Regional Development
Minister for Regional Development, The Hon Gayle Tierney has met with GBAC members to share her vision for Regional Victoria. The meeting, held at Ballarat Town Hall in June, provided an opportunity for the alliance to share with the Minister the current challenges facing the region and provide further insight into how GBAC provides a unique opportunity for government to consider solutions that generate regional and rural outcomes.

The meeting, held at Ballarat Town Hall in June, provided an opportunity for the alliance to share with the Minister the current challenges facing the region and provide further insight into how GBAC provides a unique opportunity for government to consider solutions that generate regional and rural outcomes.
The committee also welcomed discussions regarding the economic challenges facing the region’s businesses, the importance of programs to support skills training in jobs including aged care, healthcare and childcare and the impact of the lack of public transport in regional and rural shires on attracting skilled workers to the region.
As an alliance, and with the connected voice of our communities, GBAC will continue to work with the State Government to be part of the solutions to growing challenges faced by regional and rural Victoria.
